When someone says the word "church" our minds automatically fixate on the building. And yet the word church, which we get from the New Testament Greek word "ekklesia", actually means the called out (people) or the assembly.

So in an age then where community has become increasingly fractured, the Christian vision of a people drawn together for a common purpose is more important than ever before.

So rather than being a people defined by the venue they attend, Christians are actually a people united by an extraordinary mission from God: to be his holy family on earth.
