Back to About

Newfrontiers is a neo-charismatic church network of evangelical, charismatic churches founded by Terry Virgo. It forms part of the British New Church Movement, which began in the late 1950s and 1960s combining features of Pentecostalism with British evangelicalism.

A group of apostolic leaders partnering together on global mission, Newfrontiers is joined by common values and beliefs, shared mission and genuine relationships. On their site you can find out more about who their leaders are, where they work, their common values, and some stories of what God is doing in and through them around the world.

Grace church Caversham is part of Commission, an international family of churches united by a shared passion for Jesus and his mission, and a clear vision to see ‘thousands of lives transformed through hundreds of churches in tens of nations’.

Commission is led by Vinu and Julie Paul and is part of the wider Newfrontiers family of churches.

Commission has churches in the UK, India, Spain, Portugal and other nations. They are passionate about planting churches, equipping believers, training leaders, reaching the unreached and caring for the poor.

The Evangelical Alliance is made up of hundreds of organisations, thousands of churches and tens of thousands of individuals, joined together for the sake of the gospel. Representing our members since 1846, the Evangelical Alliance is the oldest and largest evangelical unity movement in the UK.

United in mission and voice, we exist to serve and strengthen the work of the church in our communities and throughout society. We work together to resource Christians so that they are able to act upon their faith in Jesus.

Transform Reading brings together people in Reading churches and organisations who love Reading and want to see it go from strength to strength spiritually, economically, socially and culturally.

They work in partnership with all sectors and communities – church and faith groups, voluntary, and statutory sectors, businesses – within Reading and beyond. Transform Reading’s partners include Reading Street Pastors and FIRST Stop Reading who serve the night time economy working closely with police, council and other agencies to make Reading a safer place to be and enjoy.

Churches Together in Caversham is a visible sign of the Churches’ commitment to our suburb, as we seek a deepening understanding of our communion with Christ and with one another, and proclaim the Gospel together by common witness and service.

Its strength comes from people from different traditions finding new ways to work and worship together. Its principal aims are:

  • To promote the fullness of unity in the Church.

  • To co-ordinate the ecumenical work of Associated Bodies and of Local Geographical Areas or CT groups.

  • To facilitate united worship witness and training suited to the needs and opportunities of changing circumstances.
