What To Expect

Visitors to Grace Church are always welcome. If you come on a Sunday morning we want you to feel relaxed and comfortable to observe or participate as much or as little as you like. There is no dress code so come as smart or as casual as is comfortable for you!

Parking

We encourage those who attend regularly to park in the staff car park at the Hill Primary School, which is situated approx. 200m further along Peppard Road. There is space for 3-4 cars on the road directly outside our building, though as far as possible we try to reserve these for those with mobility problems.

General Info

Our morning service starts at 10:30am and tends to last just over one and a half hours.

When you enter the building through the main lobby door, the toilets are situated down the steps, through the door on your left, and on the left as you make your way towards the kitchen area. Our main hall (where we meet) is on the left as you enter the building.

Please feel free to sit anywhere in the main hall. If you need assistance someone will be there to help. Refreshments are served towards the end of our time together each Sunday morning.

More information about the church can be found in the lobby.

Children

If you have children there is a crèche for babies and toddlers during the service. There are also children’s activities for those aged 5-11 from around 10:50am. All our children’s workers and volunteers have CRB enhanced disclosures and work in line with good practice guidelines.

There is normally a group for young people from the age of 12 upwards during the service on the first and third Sunday of each month.

During the Meeting

Typically, each service starts with 25-40mins of open worship. This is mainly in the form of singing (the words to the songs are projected on a screen), and church members may also read out passages from the Bible, pray, or share things that they believe God has shown them. Please feel free to join in or just observe in whatever way is most comfortable for you.

We place a high priority on spending time unpacking God’s word in a way that is relevant to life today. Each week, therefore, there is usually 30-40mins of teaching from the Bible.

Sometimes, we have a short time of sharing news and although we don’t take up an offering, there is an offering box in the lobby. Guests are not expected to give so no one will mind if you don’t (although you are more than welcome to!).

On the first Sunday of every month we usually have communion together to celebrate Jesus’ death and resurrection. If you are a Christian, you are welcome to join us in this act of worship. If you would not consider yourself a Christian, feel free to let this pass you by – no offence taken.

After the service people tend to hang around to chat and have a tea or coffee – a great opportunity to meet new people or catch up with old friends!

We hope to see you soon!
